Upcoming changes to /scratch/kingspeak/serial and /scratch/ibrix/chpc_gen
Now that /scratch/general/lustre is available on all clusters (tangent included) we are moving forward with our plans for rebuilding /scratch/kingspeak/serial.
On Monday May 2nd at noon, /scratch/kingspeak/serial will be made read only. At that time any job that is writing to this space will fail. Please plan your batch job submissions accordingly. We strongly recommend that you use the new /scratch/general/lustre NOT /scratch/ibrix/chpc_gen due to the available space.
On Monday June 6th at noon, /scratch/kingspeak/serial will be taken off-line to be rebuilt. Please make sure that you have any data copied off this space before this time. If you have data you need to move from /scratch/kingspeak/serial we recommend you make use of the data transfer nodes (DTN, see https://www.chpc.utah.edu/documentation/data_services.php#DataTransferNodes ) instead of the interactive nodes to avoid impacting other users of the interactive nodes. We also suggest you look into using rclone for the transfer (path to rclone is: /uufs/chpc.utah.edu/sys/installdir/rclone/std).
On Friday Jun 10th – expect to have the rebuilt /scratch/kingspeak/serial back on line and available for use.
On Monday, June 13th at NOON – /scratch/ibrix/chpc_gen will be made read only. At that time any job that is writing to this space will fail. Please plan your batch job submissions accordingly.
On Monday July 11th at NOON – /scratch/ibrix/chpc_gen will be retired. Be sure to have any data on this file system copied elsewhere before this time.
