Network Outage - December 20th at 8 a.m.

On Tuesday Dec 20, starting at 8am, there will be a network outage in order to move the INSCC to campus backbone connection from 10G to 40G. We estimate that the move will take about 2 hours. During this change, there will be no internet access from INSCC, Sutton and WBB.
In addition, during this time window there will be a loss of all connectivity to gear in the Downtown Data Center.
The clusters, storage, VMs, etc will stay up during this time, but will be inaccessible. Running jobs on the clusters should be continue during this time, but we will pause the scheduler in order to keep new jobs from starting.
Once the work is completed, we will send out an announcement and job scheduling will be continued. Users may need to reboot their local machines if they have issues restoring mounts of CHPC file systems after the outage.
