Hands-On Introduction to Open OnDemand

In this hands on talk we will show how to use Open OnDemand, a web portal that interfaces CHPC Linux clusters and Frisco interactive nodes. We will start with a tour of the portal's features, including a file editor, queue explorer and job submitter, and then move on to interactive applications which allow for command free way to execute jobs on a cluster or run programs on the Friscos. Currently we have about a dozen interactive applications installed, including Ansys, Comsol, Jupyter notebook, Matlab, and Rstudio. We encourage everyone who needs to use interactive applications, or is intimidated by the CHPC clusters Linux terminal interface to attend this lecture.

Please, bring a laptop with a wifi connection and have a CHPC user account.
